Strange movie deaths quiz 6.

Another way to die?

One of the perks of watching a lot of movies is that you see screenwriters getting more and more creative as time goes on. Writers always try to come up with something that hasn’t been attempted/done before. And nowhere has this been more apparent than in the morbid niche of movie storytelling that is: the death scene.

I must have seen thousands of people meet their maker on the silver screen during my short life on this earth. Explosions, gunshots, you name it. But there are far more creative ways to kill a human –as movies tell us.

So here I wish to have a little (morbid) quiz. I’ll state ten causes of death and in the spoiler tag below it is the movie it came from. See how many you get.

Theme: Strange, specific, murder weapons
I’m talking murder here. So one person using a specific item to kill another human being. What item does one use? This is a tricky subject because something as rudimentary as a ‘knife’ will bring several movies to the table. However, if I talk about a Tibetan knife (or a Kīla), I’ve narrowed it down.
The Shadow.

So in this little morbid (fun) quiz I’m going to name various highly specific murder weapons. It’s up to you to guess the movie.

1. Intact wine bottle.

Pan’s labyrinth

2. A giant bear trap.

Ravenous

3. A scissor sculpture.

Dead again

4. Barracuda (fish).

The deep

5. Microscope.

The phantom (I know I’m cheating, since he might have survived, but it was too good to leave out)

6. Basketball.

Deadly Friend

7. Coin.

X-men: first class

8. Red light.

Speed

9. Rotating doors.

James Bond: The living daylights

10. Sliding doors.

Thirteen ghosts

Strange Movie Deaths Quiz 5.

So here I wish to have a little (morbid) quiz. I state ten causes of death and in the spoiler tag below it is the movie it came from. See how many you get.

Theme: famous last words
I want my last words on this planet to be: “I didn’t do that!”
I’ll probably be chanting that phrase all the time on my deathbed.
Some characters in movies have better last words. The final thing to say before they meet their maker. Here are some direct quotations of characters speaking for the last time before the veil drops. See how many you get.

It started with me constantly quoting number three on this list, so I figured I’d might as well make a quiz out of it.

1. “Next time you have a chance to kill someone, don't hesitate.”

Die Hard.

2. “Clever girl...”.

Jurassic Park (I just had to include the best ‘last words ever’).

3. “The German army will not stand for this”

King Solomon’s mines.

4. “You’re thinking of a brick wall!”

The village of the damned (both versions).

5. “Rosebud”

Citizen Kane (Shame, if you didn’t get this one).

6. “I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.”

Django Unchained.

7. “I am killing you.”

The departed.

8. “Oh, good. For a moment there I thought we were in trouble.”

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

9. “Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh... I - am - your singing telegram!”

Clue.

10. “A girl?! A girl!...”

Dragonheart.

11. “So, who’s next?”

Final destination.

12. “You forgot the wild card, Will.”

Insomnia.

13. “Uh... I-- I don't know that.”

Monty Python: The quest for the holy grail.

14. “Nose"? That don't rhyme with "walls"!”

Who framed Roger Rabbit?

15. “For England, James?”

James Bond: Goldeneye.

Strange movie names quiz 1.

Movies come and go and so do the names of characters. However, sometimes a name sticks: Rollo Tomassi, Keyser Soze and Henry –Indiana- Jones Jr.  We’ve heard those names before and we know where they are from.

So why not make a small quiz out of it? A few names all bound together in a given theme and it’s up to you to guess the corresponding movie. See how many you get.

Theme: (Fictional) Demons
Naming something gives you power over it. That’s been the case since the moment of your birth. In demonology it has an even bigger importance. Knowing the name of a demon allows you to cast the creature back to the flaming pit of hell it crawled from.

Horror movies are very happy with this concept. Quite often, discovering the name of the demon is an important plot point. So of the names given below, in which movie did they torment our heroes?

1. Abalam

The last exorcism.

2. Abizo the Dybbuk

The posession.

3. Azazel

Fallen.

4. Baal

The rite.

5. Bughuul/Baghul

Sinister.

6. Calcifer

Howl's Moving Castle.

7. Mephistopheles

Faust.

8. Paimon

Hereditary.

9. Pazuzu

The Exorcist.

10. Sammael

Hellboy.

11. The lipstick faced demon

Insidious.

12. Valak

The conjuring 2.

13. Zuul

Ghostbusters.
